Project New Start may be the answer for you!
What is Project New Start?
Project New Start is a program administered by CUOC that can assist the following individuals:
- Workers who have experienced layoffs due to a business closure or downsizing and desire to attend GED or employability skills classes, or…
- Single parent earning 200% or less of the federal poverty income level and desire to earn their GED, or…
- Temporary workers who worked at the same job for six months or more, were laid off through no fault of their own, and desire to attend GED or employability skills class, or…
- Workers laid off through no fault of their own and desire to attend GED or employability skills classes.
Working closely with the workforce and human service agencies in the community, Project New Start aims to meet the needs of dislocated workers, filling gaps in area services. Limited emergency and supportive services, case management services, budget counseling, referrals and help in setting career goals are available through Project New Start. You must be a Randolph County resident or have worked in Randolph County at the time of layoff.
